Quiet, Please

I have just finished reading Quite Please: Dispatches from a Public Librarian. This is not as mild a book as it sounds. Scott Douglas speaks frankly about what he has encountered while being a librarian. It was enlightening to see how far down that reading was on the list of things people do at the library.

The thing I was left with from the book was the way Douglas sees value in all people who he encounters. From his own description, most of his coworkers and patrons of the library drive him crazy. But he understands and continually highlights the ways his life is richer and fuller because of their impact on him.

It was a great lesson to remember the blessing of people….even of difficult people….that God uses to shape, mold, and enrich our life.

Great power point on "dealing with difficult people"!
